Deepali Bagati, PhD, was the Executive Director for Catalyst’s United States region, and the executive lead for driving global corporate engagement in Australia, India, and Japan markets. Previously, Deepali led the growth and expansion of Catalyst India, and managed the Catalyst India Advisory Board and developed knowledge products on women in business.
In her prior role at Catalyst, as a Director of Research, Deepali led research on workplace challenges for women of color and developed solutions for building more effective and inclusive workplaces. Deepali co-led the Women of Color in Professional Services series, led the Women of Color Issue Specialty Team, and authored several reports. As a member of the Catalyst Award Evaluation Committee, Deepali was a strategic adviser for the evaluation of global initiatives, and as a member of Catalyst’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council, she was an internal advisor on diversity and inclusion for Catalyst staff.
She received her PhD in Social Work and Social Research from Bryn Mawr College, with her dissertation focusing on the impact of microcredit loans on gender relations at the household level for low-income women in New Delhi. Deepali earned a MA in Social Work and a BA in Economics, with honors, from Delhi University, New Delhi, India.
With 20+ years of experience in culture change and gender equality work, and over 13+ years of leadership experience at Catalyst, Dr. Deepali Bagati has instituted sustainable organizational change solutions across a range of industries—professional and financial services, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, consumer goods, and technology. As a member of Catalyst’s executive team, she shares collective responsibility for strategic planning and operations management.
As Executive Director, USA, she leads Catalyst’s largest market approximately $7m in revenue across 350+ supporter companies from S&P500 and F1000 companies. She is also the executive lead for Catalyst’s Asia-Pacific region, driving corporate engagement across Australia, India, and Japan. She has previously led the global expansion of Catalyst into India and managed a CEO-level advisory board, and most recently led Catalyst’s Inclusive Leadership Initiative. Leveraging her extensive research and consulting expertise, Deepali empowers CXOs and talent professionals, and inspires solutions and innovative strategies for the advancement of women. She is a sought-after speaker and facilitator, nationally and globally, and has published research, courseware, and guides on inclusive leadership, gender/race/ethnicity, and diversity and inclusion strategy.
